So i recently purchased a second hand Smoothieboard. The seller said that it already was flashed with the latest firmware and all i needed to do was to change to configuration for the printers. I dont know which printer he was using but i am using a delta. What i dont know is HOW to exactly change the configuration on the board itself. The board is working with the lights flashing green.
I have eclipse downloaded and stuff, I have the delta config in a .txt file and I’m just stumped.
I do not have the original micro sd card or sd card as the seller did not include those when i purchased the board.
Please help me, I really don’t know what to do!!!
Hello.
First, you do not need Eclipse. Smoothie does not require you compile or flash anything.
Editing the configuration is done extremely simply : just open the “config” file on the SD card, edit it, save it, and start the board. That’s it.
Smoothie has by very very far the best documentation around, at smoothieware.org. If you read it, you will know the answer to questions such as this and you will very easily get your board configured.
You need to read the documentation, you can’t skip it. If you skip reading the documentation you risk damaging things. If you don’t skip it, everything will be easy. It’s very complete, just take the time to read it.
Cheers.
Oh, also, if you were not provided a SD card, simply purchase one, then add to it the default config file, which you’ll find at : configuring-smoothie [smoothieware.org] ( again : reading the documentation would have taught you this ).
Thank you for your reply,
Will try going through the Smoothieware documentation, and just to check, the SD card that you are talking about is the micro SD card or the normal SD card.
Thanks
MicroSD card, there is no SD card slot on the Smoothieboard.
