I just finished printing several designs, all was fine. Loaded a larger design, but this time it stopped about half way through. So I loaded a smaller design and same thing happened. What’s wrong?
What slicer? Are you printing via USB or the SD card? My guess if you are using SD card is not giving it enough time to transfer the file to the card. Even when the slicer says it is done it probably isn’t in my experience.
I am new at this, what is slicer? Software? If so, Makerbot. I do not use SD card, USB to computer
Couple of things. Get rid of Makerbot, it’s ok for starting and very basic stuff but will become problematic. Go find Flashprint for a free one (slicer) and recommended at some point will be Simplify 3D but it costs.
In the QIDI 3D group on facebook I think there is a link to a new version of a slicer for QIDI also but I have not looked at it.
Possible causes of the print stopping when using USB are power saving features on the computer. Turn of all power saving functions. Anything else that is running on the PC that can use resources can also cause problems.
I would suggest trying the same print but save it to an SD card and see if you have issues still.
Great, Markerbot is now history. Just purchased Simplify 3d, will download tonight. As far as the computer, NOTHING ELSE IS RUNNING, this laptop is just for the 3d printer. I did try to save designs to the SD card, but when I put it in the printer, it shows nothing on the SD card.
Congrats on getting S3D. It really is the best choice I think for these printers.
Some may tell you it is a ripoff but I got it even before my first printer showed up and have never regretted it.

Chris, I am very sorry for contacting you more on this, but i do not know anyone that has a 3d printer, and i am stuck. I purchased Simplify3d, great program but i need to learn more about it to use it. So I downloaded Flashprint 3d. I understand it, but cannot get it to print?
When you say “can’t get it to print” what exactly do you mean?
And, if you got S3D then I would focus on that.
