I just got my first 3D printer and it appears that Fillament can get quite expensive, I would like to know how I can make my own fillament from either Failed Prints or plastic bottles etc, I’ve been doing some research and I see all these machines you can buy and or build to be able to do it but there all either too expensive or the DIY ones I found require you to know some kind of coding witch I have 0 knowledge of so I was thinking is there a way to convert a old 3D printing Pen into a Fillament Extruder ? It doesn’t have to spit it out onto a spool I just need it to have the recycled plastic go in the back end and be spit out the front as Fillament the old 3D printing pen is working 100% the model I have is not a name brand but is almost 100% identical/ the same as the 3D Doodler, does anyone know anyway I can convert it into a Fillament extruder ? Any assistance would be beyond appreciated! Thanks in advanced !

Using an old 3D printing pen would most likely not work. The 3D printing pen uses 3mm filament and nozzles that are smaller than the 1.75mm you want for your 3D printer. You could try to tear apart the 3D pen and try to find a 1.75mm nozzle, but that still may not work as you want it to.

Honestly, since your not a coder, and don’t feel comfortable with building an extruder. I would recommend saving up and buying a pre-built extruder. You would have less frustration that way. Good Luck
