Guys Gals and all! I love printing with 3dhubs! It has opened doors that I never thought possible before! I sit back list my printers and services and wait for the magic to happen! I think that I am receiving a Great bargain…; I have a full team of staff that devote their lives to driving business to my hub and as well as other hubs. 3d hubs work so hard to make sure that we are up to date and stay on the cutting edge of 3d printing technologies, and have successfully carved us out a niche market in an environment being consumed by
whales (huge printing firms/competition) Plus the staff day or night rain or shine is always just a click away to answer my silliest of questions, and for all of this I pay a 12.5% fee which I think is awesome and more than fair! I agreed to it in the beginning and agree with it now as well! I think I get one heck of a value for my dollar, and I Love what this is turning into, but here is what has been bothering me for sometime now!!! and it is really starting to bug me now!!! I do not have a dot com .com or wish to construct one! but yet I almost feel as if I need to? Why are people on here only to pull business away from our marketplace??? I constantly see this and I am so sick and tired of people advertising their dot coms on 3dhubs! If you have a Dot Com AWESOME I think that is really cool! however I think that using 3d hubs to drive traffic to your dot com is not right. I also think that this is not the place to advertise your .com and I think it should be a violation (as I believe it is). This hurts every honest person on here! The organizers of this site put their heart and souls into this as I do as an active member of this environment and community. I see it everyday, people encouraging others to leave this environment and send them a direct email for a quote? Why is this being allowed to happen, and Why are we allowing this to happen? I would Love a simple system to self police ourselves(and I never thought I would be saying this) I would like to a way to Flag every .com advertiser that tries to direct traffic away from this site. I was reading through the talk forum last night and WOW what a joke they encourage people to check out their designs and as soon as you click on the link it ask you to submit your models through a private email for a quote?? So my 12.5% is paying to advertise someone else’s .com website, and I really don’t like this at all, I know this has been brought up numerous times, but I have three main questions.
1.) How do I report these hubs?
2.)What happens when I report these hubs?
3.) How many times should they be allowed to do this befor they are permanently banned , and or should they be banned or allowed to continue?
I know people with .coms are going to jump me on this, but really why is this happening I am more than happy to pay my 12.5% commision as I feel I am getting a great amount of services for this fee! I know once we establish good customers they have a great reason to reorder with us… WorldWide 3d hubs has to be losing millions or very large sums of money and as 3d hubbers we are losing a valuable customer databases and large amounts of prospective clients. and I am talking about these .coms that blatantly try to pull traffic and orders away from this system. I think that if they are unhappy with the 12.5% fee they shouldn’t be here. I am so happy to pay this small fee because of the bargain I feel I get with the amazing 3d hubs staff and clients! Why do they have a hub with their .com advertised on the front page asking us to submit orders through a private email address? I think to avoid the 12.5% fee and thus reduce their prices 12.5% giving them an edge over the honest hubs. Heck I want the feedback lol and Strive to get the awesome 5 star feedback its what keeps us going in this competitive field. and avoiding the 12.5% fee after picking up the customer from the traffic that 3dhubs generates is unfair in my opinion to fellow honest hubbers and the wonderful staff. Thank You for reading this bloated article/rant, and I profusely Thank You for your time and contributions to this! I would greatly appreciate all knowledge and any information that could be provided on this subject.
I was reading about this cool new design last night in the talk forum and the first thing it asked me to do was click on a link and then BAM! In MY FACE (please submit a private email for a quote from my website) :(, there are too many examples I have been seeing of this lately. thank you again. PLEASE HELP lets make this fishing disappear Please, In my opinion if you have a website AWESOME but get your own traffic and treat 3dhubs as a separate entity please make it fair for all of us!
so sad

Have you looked at the sites? Maybe they have the 3dhubs plugin on their website. Using the plugin drops the fees in half but still provides the same features

Thats awesome! I would Love that to be the case, but I would also like to able to flag the sites and have a definitive answer, and a way to clean up this situation, as I believe it to unjust to the Hubs that play it by the book and also the 3d hubs creators. Thank You for pointing that out! and also how could we tell… just by placing an order? or is there an easier way to tell? Thank You again.

Hey @Iceman24k - thanks for raising your concern. We don’t have a reporting feature, however we do investigate and react to these situations on a case by case basis. We’ve got a team of people keeping an eye out!

i had “customers” asking if they could get a quote by email,
my simple reply to those are that it would be the same quote as 3d hubs, i never hear from those again
if i see people CLEARLY spamming or trying to advertise for a product i simply throw an email at HQ in Amsterdam
but yes it could be far more automated… think ebay… there you cant write an email or site link… you have to jump through so much to comunicate that kind of stuff that its not worth the trouble… why 3dhubs dont use the same idea is a puzzle

Thank You so very much for adding to this! I greatly appreciate this. I am not a person to get out and cause trouble! but I have been seeing more and more of this. and it is really starting to bother me. I see it almost everyday now, and I just think that there should be no place for it here! Yes The solicitations to work out of 3dhubs (to avoid what a dollar or three) I think is ridiculous, The one that really stuck out to me was a 3dhubs Mayor in canada, that was arguing for essentially “price fixing” saying we needed it, and also she stated that 3dhubs was charging too much (taking their little percentage), but as soon as I checked out her hub the first thing I saw was a link to her website (asking us to check it out) and then at the top of the website it asked us to submit a private email for a better price! and ever since then I have been paying a lot more attention to this subject, and I have began to see increase in this sort of linking recently wondering why it was allowed, and to be 100% honest I don’t think they are using the plugins either. I would love that if it was the case, but sadly in the situations I have seen, I don’t believe this to be the case at all. and I am not talking about hubs with 20 orders. I am talking about some of these places that have been doing this for a while and have potentially built up huge customer databases, and I know there are always going to be rouge accounts, but I would Love a way to help mitigate this situation that is becoming a problem. I just don’t want this to become common practice. Yes Ebay and amazon both make it easy. Thank You again.

Hi guys, allow me to jump in on this as well. @Iceman24k thanks a lot for your post, got me thinking. I will bring it up here at HQ and explore if there’s possibilities for us to supply the community with ‘flagging’ functionality that is fair and effective. Will get back to that. For now, thanks again!
